Motovelo Coffee Privacy Policy

Motovelo Coffee operates motovelocoffee.com and sells coffee and related gear to customers in California. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

When you place an order, create an account, or subscribe to our emails, we may collect:

• Contact information: name, email address, phone number
• Billing and shipping address
• Order details: items purchased, order history, subscription status
• Payment information: see "Payment Processing" below (we do not store full payment card details)

We don't collect any personal information beyond what's needed to fulfill orders, manage subscriptions, and communicate with you.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely by Shopify. Motovelo Coffee does not store your full payment card number or security code.

For one-time purchases, we have no visibility into your payment details at all. Shopify handles the transaction directly.

For subscriptions, your payment method is securely stored by Shopify so that recurring charges can be processed automatically. Motovelo Coffee can see only the last four digits of your card for reference, for example to help identify your payment method if you contact us about a subscription issue. We cannot view or access your full card number, expiration date, or security code at any time.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Fulfill and ship your orders
• Bill you for purchases and manage subscription renewals
• Communicate with you about your orders (confirmations, shipping updates, subscription reminders)
• Send marketing emails, if you've opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• Respond to customer service inquiries

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Third Parties We Work With

• Shopify: our e-commerce platform, which hosts our site and processes payments
• Gelato: fulfills and ships some gear items (t-shirts, mugs, stickers); your shipping information is shared with Gelato only for items they fulfill
• Printful: fulfills and ships some gear items (t-shirts, mugs, stickers); your shipping information is shared with Printful only for items they fulfill
• Seal Subscriptions: manages our subscription plans, including billing schedules and renewals
• Shopify Email: sends marketing emails if you've subscribed

Cookies

We don't set any cookies of our own. Shopify sets cookies necessary to operate the site (cart, checkout, login). We've enabled Shopify's cookie consent tools to minimize non-essential cookie use.

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic, and Google Ads (including Google Merchant Center for product listings) to run and measure advertising, including remarketing. These tools set cookies and share limited information about your visit and device with Google. Under California law, this counts as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out of Google's use of cookies for advertising by visiting https://adssettings.google.com, and out of Google Analytics generally via https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Your California Privacy Rights

Depending on your circumstances, you may have the right under California law to:

• Know what personal information we've collected about you
• Request a copy of that information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (Motovelo Coffee does not sell personal information)
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

Children's Privacy

Our site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Data Retention

We retain order and billing information for as long as needed to fulfill orders, comply with tax and accounting obligations, and support any active subscriptions. You can request deletion of your account information at any time by contacting us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
